National Match Armory's...

New!!! Eric's Blog!

Not that anybody really cares, but I've decided to add a new feature to the National Match Armory website, an infrequently updated web log to share some of the more important aspects of life in America in 2009.

My Blog will be a work in progress for a very long time, mostly because I'm not a blogger by nature. But since it has been my experience that mass media is not to be trusted in it's content or scope, and since I have found that some of my clients have not yet discovered alternatives to the 6 o'clock news, I thought I'd just jump on in and try to help.

So, here goes... Hope you enjoy it.

We're still in the process of cleaning up the effects of a catastrophic computer crash. Please bear with me. I'll get this mess cleaned up soon. Thanks. Eric

9/10/2010

I follow Sarah Palin's Facebook page, and occasionally am motivated to add my own two cents.

On the eve of the 9th anniversary of the 9/11 Attack, I got a little miffed at one pro-Obama comment, intended to question the motives of the American people as per the construction of a mosque on the 9/11 site, and the retaliatory burning of Korans by a small church congregation in Florida.

Here's what I wrote:

    • Eric Pierce
‎@ Tom Townsend: Our current administration has consistently backed down and/or apologized for causing any and all militant Islamist aggression/terrorism. Our current administration has abandoned our international friends while bowing to our enemies. Our current administration has tied the hands of our military abroad and our domestic law enforcement. We, as a country, are being laughed at for our weakness by those who should, by all rights, be respectful for our strength and character. We, as a people, are being laughed at by our own government for being so gullible as to actually elect these thugs into office in the first place.
As a strong, proud Nation we can accept flag burning and bible burning as expressions of free speech, which our Constitution defends.
But as a people betrayed by our own leadership, we are frustrated and angered by that very betrayal, and take it out on that which we perceive as symbols of the people from whom our own government prevents us from defending ourselves. ie: the kuran as a symbol of militant Islam.
It is sad that militant Islamists are such weasels that they hide behind the faith of the non-militant, but they do.
If our leadership had the moral clarity and strength to deal with the militant Islamist threat BY CALLING IT WHAT IT IS RATHER THAN WHAT IT ISN'T, the current level of confusion would not exist.
If our leadership had the conviction of traditional American values, we would have met the challenge of militant Islam and defeated it AT THE VERY OUTSET instead of trying to negotiate with those who have no honor.
We have become a weak and vulnerable nation at the hands of the Obama Administration. Our Spirit has been beaten down in more ways than one can count, intentionally.
It should come as no surprise that some may over-react, like the Reverend in Florida, to our current state of frustration. In better times, he probably wouldn't even think of burning anybody's holy book.
But... We are not in better times. We are in one of the lowest times in our Nation's history.
We are a proud people. We should not be expected to ACT as anything but a proud people.
If you think we should bend over and kiss the *** of every enemy, I am sorry for you.
      I am an American. I kiss nobody's ***.

Behind every good man...

Why doesn't America "get it"?

Why isn't America up in arms over the changes the Obama Administration has or is in the process of making?

Because we are good-hearted people who still believe that our Government is acting in our best interest? Because we, as a nation, are still in love with our rose-colored glasses?

Pro-Obama media "spin", no matter how tortured, is demanded by the Obama administration. This was made perfectly clear during the campaign when any publication who criticized Obama was removed from the "A" plane, the one on which Obama travelled, replaced by less important media representatives and put on the "B" plane  with the minor media players and minor Obama staff.

Misleading the American public is the goal of this enforced media spin. The more successful the spin, the better access the media outlet is given. This is not new news to many.

What may be new, however, is the relentless onslaught of crisis reporting designed to take our attention away from events which clearly indicate the Obama administration's progress towards the changing of America from the traditional vision into their own.

This technique is often called "just ignore the man behind the curtain", taken from the scene in "The Wizard of Oz" where Dorothy's dog, Toto, pulls the curtain aside to reveal the Wizard manipulating levers and switches which control the operation of Oz.

The Obama administration is very skilled at constructing the curtain from behind which they manipulate the American people. Every time you ask yourself, "how can they be that stupid?", keep in mind that they aren't stupid at all.

WE are the stupid ones for falling for the same old tricks, over, and over, and over.

To help clear the fog caused by this attention redirection scheme, I suggest the following:

About every news story or event coverage, ask yourself this: "How does this fit within the Obama administration's goal of robbing America of her greatness?"

Some you will conclude are simply diversions, over-hyped to distract your attention from other events which are meaningful within the "change" context.

Others you will now see as important events, but spun to aggrandize the Obama administration or to marginalize conservative causes.

But the most important will be the ones which openly and clearly reveal the Obama administration's goal of undermining America's greatness. These are the truly scary ones.

So, why doesn't America "get it"?

Because we'd rather sit on the sofa and watch "Idol" than use our God-given intelligence to sort out the information we have at our fingertips?

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that our economic future has been mortgaged to China, or that Obama goes out of his way to bow and kiss the rings of our enemies while throwing our long-time friends under the bus. You don't have to be a genius to know that Obama is lying about job growth and economic prosperity, or that "health care reform" actually means government-mandated and government-run health care.

Likewise, the TARP funds are being redirected to buy support for the administration instead of helping those with bad loans, and that the Jobs Bill is an attempt to make even more tax money available to the government for use as an even bigger slush fund for the upcoming 2010 battle royal between ascending conservatives and the entrenched Democratic incumbents.

And, perhaps worst of all, why can't Attorney General Holder even allow the words "Islamic Terrorists" to pass between his lips? Doesn't that tell you something?

So, why doesn't America "get it"?

The sorry truth is, we do. But if we admit that we get it, then we'll have to get up off the sofa, turn off the TV and actually do something about it.

And, as the Obama Administration and Al-Qaida have known all along,  Americans just don't have the spine for that any more.

Atty. General Eric Holder doesn't care.

Do you?

"Stall, Baby, Stall...!"

Re: Obama's pledge to advance offshore drilling: A bad April Fool's Joke?

I believe that an "all of the above" approach to energy development is best for our country. I think most Conservative Americans agree.

In yesterday's pledge to advance offshore drilling, the Obama administration is resorting to "smoke and mirrors" political gamesmanship to advance their agenda...which is to control energy as one more way to control the American people.

Fortunately, Obama has "cried wolf" one time too many, and is seen for what he is by most thinking Americans.

As he and his administration continue in their attempts to manipulate us through lies and obfuscation, their political power continues to diminish. Recent polls support this.

We are not stupid people, and now that we have been awakened to the danger from within, our path to the future is becoming clearer day by day.

It is not difficult to see that the Obama administration is heading down the road towards socialism where government either owns or controls all methods of production, and thus owns or controls all the people.

It is our National responsibility as Americans to "alter or abolish" this administration and its socialist goals. Our constitution provides for this through the regular election of representatives who will faithfully discharge our wishes, not their own. Our next opportunity is in November.

We know what our responsibility is, and are for the most part willing to do whatever it takes to retrieve our country from the hands of those who would change it forever.

What we really need is a leader to help focus our energy to this purpose.

Perhaps we have found one.

Whiners Need Not Apply

I believe it is the Obama administration's goal to "integrate" America into a world of "equal nations" by decreasing our role in international affairs. The only way this can be done is by reducing our influence, while allowing the influence of other counties to grow.

A review of his actions in recent months supports this idea, particularly his highly questionable actions with regards to our relations with Israel and Iran.

If Americans are to protect our place in the world, as well as protect our Constitutional way of life, we must band together and reject the Obama administration in November.

Hand-wringing and facebook posting are not enough. We must support our common sense conservative candidates with money (donations) and grass roots involvement (conservative political rallies and town hall meetings).

Our nation's future is not in Sarah Palin's hands, or in the hands of any other politician. It is in OUR hands!

Don't expect her, or anybody else, to do the heavy lifting. That's OUR job!

So... Quit whining. Get behind the wheel and PUSH!

March 27, 2010

If you haven't already, Google "YouTube", then put "Sarah Palin Searchlight" in the search box and enjoy about 20 minutes of the most inspiring rhetoric you've ever heard.

The speech was at the Tea Party Rally in Searchlight, Nevada, to kick-off a bus tour across the country, ending in a huge rally in Boston on April 15...tax day.

If by the end of the speech you aren't standing on your feet and cheering, I'll be very surprised. We are having our freedom and our liberty stolen from us one liberal bill at a time, and there's only one person on the horizon with the guts to say, "Hell, no, we won't shut up and sit down".

Sarah Palin.

February 10, 2010

I finally got a photo of my meeting with Gov. Sarah Palin at her recent book signing. Yes, that's me, looking "like an Alaskan" according to her father, in my winter beard, Carhartt's and insulated cap. As I previously mentioned, I had been waiting for several hours in freezing cold weather.

And no, I don't remember what lie it was that I was telling her, but it must have been a whopper!

By now you've probably gone to YouTube and watched the Sarah Palin speech at the National Tea Party Convention. If you've not yet done so, spend a few minutes watching a true Patriot speak of her pride in our Country and the people who make it great.

What you might not have seen is her appearance at the rally in support of the re-election of Governor Rick Perry of Texas. The sound engineering isn't all that great...much distortion due to the out-of-control cheering of those in attendance...but once again, Sarah hits it out of the ballpark. You can see it at Gov. Rick Perry's website.

As an interesting side note, we are all aware of Gov. Palin's  pride in her home state of Alaska, but she now has dual citizenship as an Honorary Daughter and Citizen of the Great State of Texas!  We couldn't be prouder!

THE ENEMY IS US!

If you haven't already done so, it's time to "get off the couch" and become a modern day Paul Revere by finding out what's really going on in our government and then spreading the word.

It's time to forsake regular network news and switch to either Fox News Network or AM Talk Radio. Not just to balance your intake of news and information, but to offset the overwhelming predominance of intentional misinformation which dominates all other media sources.

Even I have to admit that Second Amendment issues have become secondary to the future of our Nation. That is not an easy thing for me to say. Even such huge issues as the War On Terror, Health Care and the Economy are but diversions from the primary difficulty faced by our Country.

The problem, if we are brutally honest, is Ourselves.

We have become so comfortable and complaisant with our way of life that we refuse to contemplate the possibility that it may be ended in our lifetime. We go to work, come home and plug into the television until it's time to go to bed. Not once do we go outside our normal routine to broaden our horizons as to why, exactly, life seems more difficult and less rewarding now than it was in years past.

Why does our paycheck not go as far as it used to? Why is it not okay to say what's on our mind in simple, straightforward terms any more? What really happened to our investments and our 401K plans? Why do we seem so penned in by more numerous and more complex laws, regulations, rules and ever-tightening levels of correctness? Why does our life seem so much like thin soup, and not the rich, hearty stew we once knew?

Why? Because, like the frog in the pan of water who gets used to the gradual rise in the water's temperature and never thinks to jump out until it's too late, we have gotten used to the incremental theft of our liberty by an ever-expanding government.

But we can't fully blame those who would steal the flavor from our lives and saddle us with a soft tyranny in its place. They are simply tyrants doing what tyrants do. They told us what they were going to do before we elected them, so how can we expect them to do anything else now that they are in office?

We can only blame ourselves for not getting up, shutting off the television and arming ourselves with the knowledge and the passion it takes to turn back the rising waters of governmental overreach. Conservatism and conservative activism are the keys to meaningful change, a return to our traditional values. But the retaking of America is not going to happen in the comfort of our sofa.

So, when you're tempted to complain about the quality of life in America while sitting on your duff in front of the tube, keep in mind that, between liberty and tyranny, the choice is yours and yours alone.

If our country, our freedom and our way of life is lost, we've only got ourselves to blame.

December 4, 2009:

I had a chance to attend the Sarah Palin Book Signing in Plano, Tx, yesterday. Here's a quick view...

I arrived at the book signing not knowing that tickets had been sold by the book store in advance in order to limit the number of books to a reasonable limit for Sarah to sign during her visit. There were 1000 sold...in about 4 hours...about three weeks ago on the day her book was released.

I got to the book store at 4am to get a good place in line, which is when I learned that no one but ticket holders would be admitted...or so it was said...unless Sarah herself was willing to stay longer, which, given that Dallas was on the very end of the tour, was unlikely. She had had a signing in Oklahoma the evening before, and would travel to Ft. Hood to meet with the soldiers following the Dallas signing.

Well, I decided to wait it out until all 1000 ticket holders had been satisfied, at which time Sarah would be asked if she would be willing to sign a few more for those of us who had arrived in the middle of the night and waited all day in 35 degree temperatures.

To make a long story short, she
was willing to stay over for those of us who waited...about 25 who, like myself, didn't get the word about the ticket arrangement and decided to brave the elements for a chance to see her.

It was an honor and a privilege to meet and visit briefly with Sarah, who was as bright and cheerful after 1000 signings as she was when she arrived. What a lady! One simply melts in the glow of her personality.

She took each person's hand across the table as she spoke with them, her eyes bright and filled with interest as she asked each one questions about themselves, only releasing their hand when the conversation was ended, usually by one of the bookstore staffers who were charged with keeping the line moving to keep to a tight schedule. She was due at Ft. Hood to address the soldiers in just a few hours.

I also got to meet and talk with Todd, her husband, who is painfully shy, her father, her mother and an aunt, all of whom accompanied Sarah and her infant son, Trig, on the tour. I've attached a couple of photos.

These people are quiet, warm, genuine and sincere. There is no pretense about them at all. They are more like close, long-time friends or one's own family than anything else. If one didn't know that Sarah was a potential Presidential candidate, their manner would never give it away.

In fact, Sarah's mom gave me the warmest hug and a quiet, God Bless You, in my ear when we parted. I could not have been more impressed by their humility and openness. I felt as if I had known them for many years. A truly wonderful American family.

I hope that you will consider supporting her should she decide to continue in politics. She is a remarkable woman, with a remarkable vision for our Country. If one should have any doubt of her sincerity, one need only to look as far as her family to be reassured that she is, without doubt, the real thing.

Have you discovered the Drudge Report yet...? If not, give it a try.

It's a compilation of the day's news from various sources with a conservative leaning. Lots of information just never makes the news services, but is really necessary to give the view of the world a new perspective.
